Experience and Curriculum
The person who is contracting this route is aware that it is a high mountain itinerary, and as such it has mountain passes that exceed 2500 metres, in which the use of technical material such as crampons and ice axes is often required.
The participant acknowledges having prior experience in high mountain treks and accepts responsibility for the inherent risks of such an activity
Formalizing your reservation
To formalize your reservation a down payment of 20% of the final cost is required.
The remaining 80% shall be paid before starting the chosen route. If the payment hasn’t been made in the period of 10 days before the start of the route, we will take it that the person or party is not going to commence the activity, and as a consequence they will lose their down payment.
Reservations which are within a 10 day period of the start of the activity have to be paid in full.
How to reserve?
You can fill out the form on our web, or if you prefer you can write to us with your personal details and timeframe preferences for your chosen route at our email: info@laaltaruta.com
Refuges booked out?
There are refuges that can be booked out during the summer period, so we advise you to make your reservation as early as possible to guarantee a vacancy.
If, due to unforeseen circumstances such as illness, bad weather… the client has to stay more nights than expected at a refuge, they will have to pay the corresponding refuge in cash for their extended stay, as well as notify La Alta Ruta about the delay, so that they can reschedule the rest of the days on your route.
What happens if I have to cancel my reservation?
Please make sure that you let us know with as much forewarning as possible. If you cancel before 16 days of the start of your trek you will be refunded the full amount you paid for the reservation minus a 10€ fee which is charged to cover administrative expenses.
More than 16 days before the route, you will be refunded 100% of your down payment minus administrative expenses.
15 to 6 days before, you will be refunded 50% of your down payment minus administrative expenses.
The last 5 days you will not be refunded for the down payment and you will also have to pay administrative expenses.
2 days before the start of the trek or less you will be charged 100% of the reservation fees.
In all cancelations there will be a 10€ administrative expenses fee per reservation.
What happens if the weather is bad?
The company can’t be held responsible for adverse weather conditions. In the case of very bad weather we can reschedule reservations by a maximum of one day, refuge vacancies allowing.
In no case will the organization pay for the extra night the client will have to stay at the refuge.
What happens if I have to withdraw from a trek?
Withdrawal from a route, excepting those cases involving accidents that require evacuation, doesn’t warrant a monetary refund.
On the other hand you could be refunded 80% of the money corresponding to your stay at refuges which cancellation is made 48 hours in advance. This policy is applied to La Alta Ruta by the refuges, and it cannot be compared to that of their own reservations.
